Dear Neighbours,

My name is Chloe, but you might know me as a Cancer Fighter in our community. I am 9 years old, and am in grade 4. You might have seen me around selling bracelets to classmates, friends & family to support the Canadian Cancer Society raise money to help people going through cancer. At school, my friend and I each donated 10 inches of our hair to help make wigs for people who have lost their hair as a result of their cancer treatments.

I am writing you today to seek your help for a very important mission!

Being a super hero is REALLY hard work, but I do it because too many people I care about have been touched by cancer. Two of my great aunts have died of breast cancer, and I have lost other family members to other types of cancer. I don’t want other kids to lose people they love like I did.

My mom and dad told me that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. That’s scary with a capital S! But, more moms, aunts and grandmas who get this kind of cancer are surviving and that is AWESOME! I want to help find a cure so that someday I can tell my kids a story like this…

Once upon a time there was this really evil bad person named Cancer (dun dun DUN) but then tis awesome kid hero came along and worked with other people and killed all of the cancer FOREVER. The End.

Can you please help me make my story come true and donate to the Canadian Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Awareness Month? I know I am just a kid, but if you help me, we can make a big difference together.

Let’s work together to create a world where no one has to fear cancer!

You can make a donation by calling the Canadian Cancer Society at 613-932-1283 or visiting their website at www.cancer.ca

Even super heroes need help sometimes!
