CORNWALL, Ontario – Eleven vendors participated in the first pop-up fundraiser for Studio C Dance School on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Benson Centre.

One of the vendors was Mackenzie Tait, 10, who was selling her homemade lip products. She calls her work Mackie’s Makeup, and started making her all-natural products last year with the help of her mother. Tait is also a competitive dancer at Studio C Dance School.

According to Candy Pollard, organizer of the craft show, funds earned from the event will go towards

competitive dance team entry fees. Local dancers will be competing in two competitions in the spring, Dance Canada and Kick It Up, both held in Gatineau.

“It has worked out very very well,” said Pollard about the craft show. “It’s wonderful to see Cornwall people supporting Cornwall businesses…it’s great that people have been coming through to support their (vendors) efforts.”

Local vendors offered a range of items, including psychic readings, towels, bath bombs, soaps, home décor, t-shirts and socks, fleece blankets, Indigenous art, lip balms, knitted goods and glass art.

Studio C Dance School has existed in the community for 28 years and offers classes in ballet, jazz, tap, and more.
