LONG SAULT, Ontario – In Long Sault, parents and children of all ages hunted for Easter Eggs this Saturday, March 31, 2018 with the intention of raising funds for the Ingleside Splash Pad.
The excellent weather made for a great hunt.
This is the second year that the Lost Villages Lions Club hosted the event with the hope of raising close to $500 to $600 for the Splash Pad.
The fundraiser far achieved their expectations with an estimated 200 children participating in the event.
The event could not have ran without the leadership of Lynn White who organized the event aided by volunteers from the Lost Villages Lions Club.
“Last year we had 150 kids, so this year we made a 190 bags figuring we would have a little bit of growth but we seem to have had exponential growth,” said Lynn White.
The number of children overwhelmed their hosts in a great way, making for a slightly competitive hunt with children leaving with a loot sack and big smiles.
Parents paid $3 per child, which was a small price to pay for the size of the loot and the good memories.
“At the end of the day I think they are having fun whether they collect all the eggs or not,” explained Lynn White.
