Arrest made in abuse case going back to 1983

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 70-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 12, 2018 and charged with:

• Assault
• Assault with a weapon
• Assault causing bodily harm
• Sexual assault
• Sexual interference
• Sexual exploitation

It is alleged that between 1983 and December 2017, the man sexually assaulted and assaulted his wife and step-son on multiple occasions, and on one occasion, assaulted his wife with a weapon. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 12, 2018 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 17, 2018. His name was not released as it might identify the victims in the matter.

BREACH, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 12th, 2018 and charged with criminal harassment, as well as breach of undertaking for communicating with her ex-boyfriend and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged between February 26th, 2018 and March 8th, 2018, the woman was found to be in breach of her conditions when she repeatedly contacted the man. On March 12th, 2018, the woman attended police headquarters, was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Marcel Seip, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on March 12th, 2018 and charged with breach of undertaking for being outside of his residence without his sureties, as well as breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man was in breach of his conditions on March 8th, 2018 and police were contacted to investigate. On March 12th, 2018 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 12th, 2018 and charged with criminal harassment, as well as breach of probation for being in possession of a weapon and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 11th, 2018, the man repeatedly communicated with his sibling despite being warned not to by police. It is alleged on March 12th, 2018 police attended the residence of the man and located a gun, contrary to conditions of his probation order. On March 12th, 2018, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5000, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Linzey Brownell, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on March 13th, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000 and uttering threats. It is alleged on March 6th, 2018 the woman attended the residence of a male known to her and removed property from the residence without permission and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, it was also learned that threats had been made to a man known to her. On March 13th, 2018 police located the female and she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 12th, 2018. Her name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
