CORNWALL, Ontario – Over 250 attendees enjoyed good conversation and Italian cuisine on Friday, Jan. 11 during Italian Night at the Cornwall Royal Canadian Legion.

The sold out evening featured food and sauce provided by the Legion and Casa Paolo, as well as desserts provided by Nolan Quinn of Dairy Queen. Tickets were $35 per person and proceeds are donated to United Way of SDG.

“Italian Night was given to the United Way by the MS Society,” explained Meagan Bingley, Director of Operations at United Way of SDG. “This is our second year (hosting) and it was previously run by Karen Racine.”

“Once dinner ends, the Kealey-Greer All Star Band will take the stage,” added Bingley. “Everyone gets up dancing. It’s just a good way to break that winter blues, have some fun and support a good charity in the process.”

Bingley thanked all the gracious food sponsors, including the Legion, Casa Paolo and Dairy Queen, as well as other supportive organizations including Cornwall City Press, Perkins Rona, Pommier Jewellers, Cornwall Seaway News and Renee who donated Cornwall Colts tickets.

Cornwall Seaway News is always proud to be associated with such a great event, and the people and sponsors that are involved,” said Gneral Manager Rick Shaver. “Lots of fun, good band and lots of hard working volunteers.”
