Three arrested in drug bust in South Stormont

SOUTH STORMONT, Ontario – On Oct. 4, 2018, members of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU) and SD&G OPP officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Search Warrant at a property on County Rd. 18, South Stormont Township. This resulted in the seizure of a quantity of marijuana, hash oil, weapons (Long Guns), ammunition, brass knuckles and Canadian currency.

Melissa Brooks, 22, of South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

– Produce a control substance

– Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by crime – over $5,000

– Possession of a controlled substance for purpose of trafficking

-Possession of controlled substance

– Unauthorized possession of a firearm

– Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition (two counts)

She was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on Nov. 15, 2018.

Brandon Meldrum, 27, of South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

– Produce a control substance

– Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by crime – over $5,000

– Possession of a controlled substance for purpose of trafficking

-Possession of controlled substance

– Unauthorized possession of a firearm

– Unauthorized possession of a weapon

– Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition (two counts)

He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on Nov. 15, 2018.

Ralph Meldrum, 58, of South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

– Produce a control substance

– Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by crime – over $5,000

– Possession of a controlled substance for purpose of trafficking

-Possession of controlled substance

– Unauthorized possession of a firearm

– Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition (two counts)

He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on Nov. 15, 2018.
