Alice Lalonde

LALONDE, Alice (née Daniels) – Mrs. Alice Lalonde at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre, Cornwall on Wednesday October 2, 2019 at the age of 90 years.  Born December 17, 1928 in Moose Creek, she was the daughter of the late William and Lucy (née Beauvais) Daniels.  From a young age Alice began her career working in several local nursing homes in Cornwall and surrounding areas.  At the age of 55 she received her PSW Certificate through St. Lawrence College and continued her vocation to help the aged through home care until her retirement at 65.  Alice loved to cook and bake and was an avid quilter and crafter, partaking in several Christmas craft sales.  Over the years, family members received many of her handmade items to treasure.  Alice was predeceased by her husband of 64 years Wilfred Lalonde.  She is survived by her loving daughters Louise Lawson (Lloyd) of California and Danielle Moïse (Bob) of Cornwall.  She is also survived by 4 grandchildren Nancy Struthers (Yves), Sandra Lecuyer (Ghislain), Angèle (Buck) and Colin Moïse (Gabrielle); and by 7 great grandchildren Nicholas, André, Tanzen, Trystan, Sawyer, Averie and Eastyn.  She also leaves behind her siblings George, Edward, and Albert Daniels, all of Kingston, and is predeceased by her sisters Emma, Gladys, Florence, Mabel, Beatrice, and one brother Alfred.  Resting at the Wilson Funeral Home 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall where visitation will be held on Saturday from Noon-2:45 PM.  The Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated in the chapel of the Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday October 5, 2019 at 3:00 PM.  Rite of Committal at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Cornwall.  If so desired contributions in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or CHEO would be appreciated by the family.  Online messages of condolence may be made in the obituary section of www.wilsonfuneralhome.ca
