Andre Giroux

GIROUX, Andre – Mr. Andre Giroux at the Ottawa Hospital at the age of 81. Beloved husband of 56 years to Dora Giroux (née Johnston). Loving father of Natalie Woods of Cornwall, Rose Van Putten (Tom) of Newington. Cherished grandfather of Andrew, Callum, Owen, Spencer, Grace, and Duncan. Survived by his sister Jean Jarvo (Garth). Predeceased by granddaughter Daisy and two sisters Therese Boyer (Vern), and Alice Ladouceur (Art), and by his parents Hormidas and Rose Giroux. Because of heath issues, Andre gave up his love of the farm. Andre spent over fourty-two years as a mechanic at Cornwall Miller Hughes. Seventeen years with kidney failure and last few years on dialysis. The good part of that is Andre loved all the nurses and they are a big part that kept him going. Our hearts with our appreciation go out to the Winchester dialysis unit for all they do. Ottawa doctors, especially Dr. Akabari, and many healthcare workers we have met along the seventeen year journey. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic church on Tuesday February 22, 2022 at 11:00AM. Cremation to follow.
