It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother who passed away at the age of 82 on January 18th, 2022 at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital in Alexandria, Ontario. Annie loved her family deeply and was devoted to her husband Theodore (Ted) Petersen, her children Steven (Tuanjai Chaichana), Julie, Jennifer (David Davison), and Sonja (Michael Marshall). She was extremely proud of her three grandchildren Sofie, Grace and Daniel, and great-grandson Callahan, who she loved very much. She will be dearly missed by her sisters and brother in Denmark: Hanne (Peder Vesterby), Inge (late Mogens Rasmussen), and Leo (late Elly Pedersen), and their children and grandchildren, in addition to all of her extended family in Canada, and dear friends in both countries. Annie was born on October 23, 1939 in Denmark and came to Canada in 1965 where she soon met Ted and they began their family. Annie will be remembered for her sunny smile, kind and gentle nature, and fabulous cooking and baking which she was famous for. Annie had many hobbies that kept her busy in retirement: tending to her garden in the summer, reading, crossword puzzles, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and cooking and baking. In Annie’s company we were always surrounded by love and kindness, and were always treated to a gourmet meal at every occasion. There will be a private service to celebrate her wonderful life. In memory of Annie, a donation to the Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation or a charity of your choice would be most appreciated. Condolences may be offered at www.munromorris.com.
