Arthur Allen Crowe

CROWE, Arthur Allen – passed away, from pulmonary disease, on Tuesday February 20, 2024 at the Cornwall Community Hospital at the age of 76 years. Dear husband of 29 years to Mary Geraldine Shaver Crowe (née McDonell). Stepfather of Baron Shaver (Michelle), Powell River, BC, Tyson Shaver, Edmonton, AB and the late Virginia Shaver. Grandfather of Tala and Heath Shaver and great grandfather of Marcus Hammond, Lorelle and Trrume John. Survived by sisters Katherine Crowe, Cornwall, and Sharon Arcand (Daniel) St-Lazare, QC, and their family. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Christena (née MacCrimmon) Crowe and brother, Steven Crowe.

Art was a truck driver most of his life, ending his career as a valued transport trailer mechanic. He loved to work on all vehicles and amassed an impressive tool collection. Art was a huge animal lover and nearly always had a dog, a couple of cats and even some birds. With limited mobility, he’d happily watch discovery and national geographic channels while playing computer games. He’d do a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle, on the computer, in a day. While his treats often got the better of him, he’d made peace with them all but jujubes at the end.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street (613-938-1039). There will be no wake or service. In the spring, the ashes will be placed in the Columbarium at St. Andrews United Church, Williamstown ON. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated by the family. Messages of condolence may be left at www.mjohnsullivanfuneralhome.ca.

He travelled the land with a smile of great pride. Now he drives the streets of heaven on the trucker’s last ride. May your roads always be clear, Art.

10-4 and goodbye.
