Austin Pfotenhauer

16 November, 2001 – 6 June, 2020

PFOTENHAUER, Austin Thomas- November 16, 2001-June 6, 2020- Austin went to join his Lord and Saviour in the early morning hours of Saturday June 6, 2020, after a tragic swimming accident. Austin was an amazing, loving, energetic 18 year old who was loved beyond words. He knew who his Saviour was and we are confident that we will see him again in heaven. Austin leaves behind his parents, Michael and Cynthia, his sister, Madeline Lindke (Andrew), his brother Justin, his nephew, Walter, his grandparents, Lloyd and Patricia Stacey and Thomas and Marjorie Pfotenhauer, his aunts and uncles, Julie and Gordie Ebsch, Marcia Pfotenhauer, Lloyd and Patricia Stacey, and Jason and Jennifer Pfotenhauer, his cousins, Erin Ebsch, Dahkota (Mara) Stacey, Sierra Stacey, Hannah Pfotenhauer and Sam Pfotenhauer. Austin will also be missed by his very special friend, Margaret Hyatt. The saying “It takes a village to raise a child” was very true in Austin’s life. R-O Public school and Tagwi Secondary School were part of that village. To each and every staff member who was there to care and support Austin, a huge thank you. Thank you to Irene and Rebecca LeDuc for the care and friendship you gave Austin. An extra special thank you to the OPP officers who cared for us on that terrible night. Thank you also to the hospital staff at the Winchester and the Ottawa Civic Hospitals for the care you gave Austin. Pastor Michael Sullivan, you were there for us the entire time, letting us cry and guided us in prayer, thank you. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Austin’s memory can be made to the Divine Word Lutheran Church, 1081 Greenbank Road, Ottawa, ON K6J 1X8. A Memorial Service will be held once the current public COVID 19 restrictions are lifted.  Online messages of condolence may be made in the obituary section of: www.mjohnsullivanfuneralhome.com
