Peacefully at the Palace LTC on Monday, March 1, 2021. Béla Ujhegyi of Alexandria; age 88 years. Beloved husband of Ilona Ujhegyi (née Toth). Loving father of George (Sylvie), William (Jody), and Susan (Brad). Dear brother of 6 siblings: Ilona (deceased), Ági, Erzsébet, Irenke, János (deceased),József (deceased), predeceased by his parents Béla Ujhegyi and Ilona Ujhegyi (née Csányi). Béla immigrated to Canada from Hungary in 1957 with little in his pockets but much hope in his heart. He worked hard while raising a family in St-Hubert, QC; married for 55 years.He loved the outdoors, soccer, running marathons and was an avid gardener.After retiring from his career as a mechanic with Air Canada in Montreal, he settled in Alexandria, ON and remained active on his hobby farm.Alzheimer’s may have taken his memories but he never lost his sense of humor and kindness which warmed the hearts of many around him.Per Béla’s request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
