Betty Piquette (Charlebois)

Tuesday, January 1st, 1929 Thursday, January 21st, 2021.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marjorie Elizabeth (Betty) Piquette (nee Charlebois) of Cornwall; age 92 years young, on Thursday, January 21, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Philias (Pete) Piquette. Loving mother of Patricia Piquette (Michael Leclerc) of Long Sault, Michael Piquette (Shirley) of Cornwall, and Rosemary Zvonar (John) of Ottawa. Loving Nama of the Piquette boys Jamie (Jennifer), Christopher (Jeff), and Patrick (Meghan), and proud great-grandmother of Felix. Predeceased by her parents Nelson and Mabel Charlebois (nee Loney) and brother Gordon Charlebois. She will also be lovingly remembered by the McCormick family: Rory (Louise), Nori, Rob, Brendan and Kate, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Betty graduated from the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1951 and served as a caring and dedicated nurse at the Hotel Dieu Hospital until her retirement. She was a dedicated wife and mother who was the rock of the family. She was an avid bridge player, hockey fan, and volunteer. She cherished her many friends and always appreciated calls from friends and family as long as they didn’t call during Jeopardy!
In later years, despite challenges with severe pain, her strong will and determination did not stop her from playing bridge or attending St. Columban Church. She will be dearly missed.
Due to restrictions, a private visitation will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt St., Cornwall (613-938-3888) followed by a private Mass of Christian Burial in St. Columban Catholic Church, Cornwall. A spring interment will take place in St. Columban Parish Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to Patrons of St. Columban Foundation or St. Vincent de Paul Society, Cornwall would be appreciated by the family.
