Carole May Collins (née Barnes)
It is with profound loss and sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Carole May Collins (nee Barnes) at her residence on Saturday November 30, 2024, at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife and life partner of Carl Collins, who recently celebrated 65 happy years of marriage together. Loving mother of Shane Collins (Christine) and Shauna Collins (Andy). Cherished grandmother of Abby Rodger-Collins. Treasured sister of Ilene McRae (Lyall), Ray Barnes (Gloria), and Ervin Barnes (Susan). Predeceased by her parents Gertrude (nee Morin) and William Barnes.
A graduate of Cornwall Collegiate Institute and Vocational School (class of 1959), Carole worked as an administrative assistant at Domtar Fine Papers, and as a clerk for the Provincial Courts.
Carole was often found reading a book or challenging her mind with crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and Sudoku. She enjoyed time with friends and family, her exercise classes, and getting her steps in with her daily walks. In her earlier years, Carole also enjoyed curling, and playing bridge.
Carole will be remembered for her love, kindness, thoughtfulness, source of comfort, quiet strength, and unwavering support to her family. In her memory, we honor a life well-lived and a cherished wife, mother, family member and friend well-loved.
