David Kyte
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of David Ross Kyte of Gabarus, Cape Breton on June 12, 2021. Dave blessed us for 45 years with his unabashed joy for life. Dave’s intelligence, talents, humour, wit and above all his kindness, generosity and warmth lifted us and rippled throughout the countless meaningful connections made over his life. His imagination, coupled with the courage and tenacity of an entrepreneur led to many creative endeavours and shared experiences with family and friends. David’s pursuit of music and the culinary arts took him from Long Sault, Ontario, to Vancouver, Toronto, Kelowna and culminated in achieving his dream of opening a unique restaurant Neck of the Woods in Gabarus. He married the love of his life, his soulmate and best friend Jenn in 2015 who completed him. Together they followed their hearts and made their dreams reality. Left to mourn, miss and cherish Dave forever are his wife Jennifer, nee Chartrand; his parents Wayne and Judy Kyte of Long Sault, ON, his sister Alison, John Pushor and dear niece and nephew Stella and Harvey of Kelowna, BC. His large and loving family of Kytes and MacCallums, particularly his grandparents Ross and Doreen MacCallum of Long Sault. His loving Chartrand family-in-law of Kamloops, BC: Lance and Corinne, Crystal, Laurie, dear nephew Jaxon, and Greg. Our heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of love from family, friends and the beautiful people of Cape Breton who opened their arms to Dave and Jenn.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of David’s life is planned for the fall in Long Sault, ON. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.twcurry.com.
