Denis J Tailleur

We regret to announce the peaceful passing of Denis Tailleur on Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Cornwall Community Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones, at the age of 85. He lived in Kapuskasing for over 72 years before he and Thérèse decided to move to Cornwall to be closer to their children and grandchildren. After spending several years in the Canadian army, he had a long career with Star Transfer in Kapuskasing, followed by owning his successful saw sharpening business. He loved spending time at Lake Saganash with his friends and family. Later in life, he enjoyed long trips with his wife and quality time with his family. He was an avid reader, weaver and loved watching hockey. He is survived by the love of his life, Thérèse (Mercure), his son Marc (Manon Lévêque) of Cornwall, Louise (Sheldon DeCoste) of Orléans; four brothers: Raymond (Lee) of California, Gaston (Lise) of Valleyfield, Donald of Kapuskasing, Jean-Yves (Nancy) of Kapuskasing; one sister Marjolaine Richard of Kelowna, as well as five grandchildren, Mathieu(Samantha), Nathalie (Brandon), Brandon, Pascal and Mélania. He is also survived by many sisters and brothers in law and nieces and nephews whom he cherished dearly. He was predeceased by his parents Philippe and Jeanne Tailleur; two sisters: Jeannine Tailleur and Jeannine McIndoe; three brothers: Luc, Robert and Roland. A family service will be held at Lahaie & Sullivan Funeral Home (West Branch) at 20 Seventh Street West on Thursday, Sept 17th at 10:30 a.m. RSVP with family due to the pandemic. The family would like to thank the wonderful medical and non medical staff at the Cornwall Community Hospital over the past 6 months. As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
