Peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Center, Cornwall on Thursday, July 22, 2021. Dorothy McBain (nee MacDermid) of Alexandria, age 93 years. Beloved wife of the late Ian McBain. Dear daughter of the late Finlay MacDermid and the late Lillian Maude Robertson of Greenfield. Stepdaughter of the late Catherine MacDermid. Loving sister of the late John (late Betty) of Fruitvale, B.C., the late Archie (Marion) of Cornwall, Christena (late Eric Benwell) of Kamloops B.C., Mildred (late Duncan Bilmer) of Monkland, the late Shirley (late Wilfred Smee) of Thunder Bay, and half sister of Wayne (Jeannette) of Maxville, the late Winston (late Marlene) of North Bay, Wallace (Lyn) of Cornwall, Gerald (Rita) of Cornwall, the late George (Fleurette) of Maxville, Mary Phillips (Gary) of Maxville, and Heather (Don McCuaig) of Clearwater B.C. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She touched the lives of many and will be missed by all. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 20 Main St. South, Maxville (613-527-2898) on Saturday, July 31st, 2021 from 1 pm – 2 pm. A private celebration of Dorothy’s life will follow. Masks and physical distancing are required at all gatherings.
