McNAUGHTON, Douglas – Mr. Douglas McNaughton at the Glen Stor Dun Lodge, Cornwall on Saturday July 11, 2020 at the age of 97 years. A patriot and active member of his community, Doug was a Veteran of WWII – Westminster Rifles and served in England, Italy, and Northwest Europe. In his time in the military he also served with the Victoria Rifles. Upon his honourable discharge, he continued in life as a Canadian Citizenship & Immigration Manager. He was very active in his community having served 6 years as a Councillor in the former Cornwall Township; Past President and long-time member of the Cornwall Kiwanis Club; Past President and long-time member of what is now Community Living – Stormont County; Past Master and Life Member of Wales Masonic Lodge; and a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for his work with the Canadian Immigration Department. Beloved husband of the late Marion (née McKinnon) McNaughton. Loving father to Nancy Pilgrim (Ken) of Cornwall, and the late Brian McNaughton. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Stella (née MacPherson) McNaughton and his brother Keith. Also survived by his sisters Eileen Lawrence and Ruth Rain. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault where Doug will be reunited with Marion and Brian. If so desired contributions in his memory to Cornwall Hospice, Baldwin House (women’s shelter) or any other worthy charity would be appreciated by the family.
