It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. John Douglas Macaulay at home on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023 at the age of 93 years. Beloved husband of the late Dr. Margaret Haf Macaulay (October 26, 2022). Loving father of William Macaulay (Susan Meyer) of Toronto, Mary Macaulay of Tatamagouche, N.S, Dr. Robert Macaulay (Cynthia Guzner) of Tampa Florida and Frances Macaulay of Cornwall. Cherished grandfather of Dr. Colin Meyer-Macaulay (Dr. Jillian Walsh), Rowan Meyer-Macaulay (Jeff de Jong), Iain Meyer-Macaulay (Marisa Samek), Owain Meyer-Macaulay (Lacy Atalick), Dr. Aled Iaboni (Dr. Diana Wong), Dr. Douglas Iaboni (Victoria), Hershel Macaulay (Dr. Shoshana Vasserman), Ethan Macaulay (Kira Misiewicz), Dr.Casper Macaulay (Jordin Fletcher), Dianne-Katherine Payette (Bill Howard), John L. Payette (Tanis McMahon), Andrew Payette and Megan Payette and great-grandfather to Madeleine, Bryn, Arwen, Garian, Darius and Amitai. As per Dr. Macaulay’s request, cremation has taken place and a service will be held in the spring. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, ON (613-938-3888). As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations in Dr. John’s memory can be made to Red Cross or the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation.
