E. Paul Burns

 

BURNS, E. Paul – Suddenly at home on Tuesday January 22, 2019. He was 70. He leaves his loving wife of 45 years, Meg (Ryan) Burns. Dear father of Erin Burns, Claire Hewlett (Tyler), Carly Burns (Derek Quesnel). Sadly missed by 2 grandchildren, Kayley and Mackenzie Hewlett. Survived by two sisters, Patricia Sakal and Judy Dubeau (Dave) and their sons Curt Dubeau (Mirella) and Michel Sakal. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Sybil (Bujold) Burns. Graduated from McGill Law School in 1974 and proceeded to practice law in Toronto and Ottawa, finally settling with his family in Cornwall in 1979. Paul was a respected litigation lawyer in Cornwall until his retirement in 2010. As per Paul’s wishes, family and friends will be received on Tuesday January 29, 2019 at the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street (across from city hall) from 2 – 5pm. Inurnment, St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault, at a later date. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by the family.
