Edna MacDougall (Garlough)
Friday, January 21st, 1927 – Monday, July 26th, 2021
At the Cornwall Community Hospital on Monday, July 26, 2021, Edna Eileen MacDougall (Garlough) of Williamstown, age 94 years. Beloved wife of the late Garnet Alexander. Loving mother of Karen MacDougall (Donald Thiel) of Tsawwassen, B.C., Stephen (Marianne McPhadden) of Martintown, Timothy (Cathy Lunan) of Martintown, Robert (Susan McGrath) of Williamstown, and Michael MacDougall of Calgary, AB. Proud and cherished nanna of 13 grandchildren: Stephanie and Gillian Thiel; Tyler, Meaghan, Kelsey, Kyle, Joey-Duncan, Grant, Lawson, Jake, Elizabeth, Isaac, and Josh MacDougall. And two great-grandchildren, Jack and Maggie MacDougall. Dear sister of Robert Morley Garlough (Surrey, BC). She will be deeply missed. Predeceased by her parents Emmanuel and Elizabeth Garlough (Mayer), and brother, Clare Melvyn Garlough. The family would like to thank the many kind neighbours, friends and caregivers, everyone at Jack’s Pub and Betty’s restaurant who were always there for Edna in her final years. It really does take a village to support a senior to live their full life, in their own home, on their own terms. Thank you Williamstown.
Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613-347-3629). As per Edna’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside committal will take place in St. Andrew’s United Church Cemetery, Williamstown. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Cornwall Hospice, Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Edna a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. A tree grows-memories live. Condolences may be made online at www.munromorris.com.
