Peacefully at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Ernest Murray of Alexandria, formally of Apple Hill; age 85 years. Beloved companion of the late Anne Dionne. Dear son of the late George Murray Jr. and the late Christina MacLean. Predeceased by his brother Keith (Marge Unger) of Spruce Grove, Alberta and his nephew Kevin Smith. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Doyle and his sister Margery (Gerald Smith) of Cornwall. Ernest will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A valued employee of Cornwall Gravel for 35 years, Ernest, a true gentleman with a ready smile, loved his pets and the great outdoors. The family of Ernest would like to thank the staff at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital for their care and kindness. As per Ernest’s wishes there will be no service. Arrangements under the care and direction of Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria, ON (613-525-2772). As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Ernest a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods.
