Frederick Miller
With hope in the Resurrection and gratitude for his priestly ministry and marriage to Anne Marie, Fred died peacefully at home. A gentle man of prayer, Fred leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Anne Marie (Bazinet), sister Emily Beck (Ralph), nieces Sheila, Martha, Marg Anne and Anne, nephews, Ross, Paul, Claude, Matthew, Gregory, Jon and Michael, sister-in-law, Audrey Bazinet, Oblate brothers and cherished friends. Predeceased by his parents, Frederick Miller and Patricia O’Connor, siblings Robert, Mary, Bill, Marguerite and John. Beloved son-in-law of the late Felix and Theresa Bazinet. Fred entered the Oblates of Mary Immaculate 1946, ordained priest 1952 and married 1993. Fred had a rich and varied ministry. His gift for writing was recognized as Editor of Oblate Missions Magazine 1959-1991, Novice Director Carleton Place, Chaplain Sisters of St. Ann, Dorval, Sisters of St. Joseph, Pembroke. Served at Friendly Cove, Tahsis and other missions on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, parishes on Ile Perrot, QC, Fitzroy Harbour, ON, Flin Flon, MB, Indian Brook, NS and Canadian Martyrs, Ottawa. Anne Marie wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to all family and friends who helped in any way, especially Fr. Tim Coonen O.M.I. for his visits to Fred and Dr. Francine Bonnet for her compassionate care of Fred at home, Dr. Kanigsberg as well as Carefor Support nurses, especially Anna. As an expression of sympathy, Fred requests extending a loving hand to someone in need. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Canadian Martyrs Church, Ottawa at a later date.
