VELEMA, Gerrit “George” – Left this world for Glory Land on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the age of 73 years. Beloved husband of Hennie (née Douwes). Loving father of James (Adrienne), Derek (JooYun), and Gerrit (Shadan). Cherished grandfather of Owen, Ayden, Noah, Emmalene, and Arvin. Dear brother of Pieternella Sandrock (Walter). Predeceased by his father Jacob, mother Jantina, and brother Johannes.
George was a man of action, passionate about helping those in need and being a steward of the environment.
Friends are invited to pay their respects at any time by taking a walk in the woods at the Velema Tree Farm (South Nation Conservation Area) in Moose Creek, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Immanuel Christian Reformed Refugee Fund (via e-transfer to icrcrefugee@gmail.com) or to Forests Ontario at forestsontario.ca
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
