Gwendolyn Faye (Dawson) Miller, 91, passed away peacefully at the Cornwall Community Hospital in the early morning hours of Sunday, 21 March 2021.

Gwen was born in 1929, in Tilbury, Ontario. She was the only daughter of Clarence Fay Dawson (1894 – 1986) of Tilbury, Ontario and Lauretta Marguerite Milner (1897 – 1972) of Kent County, Ontario. She was the younger sister to Ronald Mark Dawson (1922-2007), also of Tilbury.

Gwen met Donald Gordon Miller (1930-1995), son of Gordon Alexander Miller (1903-1968) and Dorothy Eberle Fowler (1904-1983) of Prescott, Ontario when they were both attending the University of Western Ontario. They were happily married for 42 years until Don’s untimely death in 1995. They lived for many years in St. Lambert, Quebec. After raising their family in St. Lambert, they moved to Pointe Claire, Quebec and then on to Alexandria,Ontario. Gwen was also predeceased by her son Cameron Scott Miller (1958-2002).

Gwen was the first in her family to graduate from university and was an accomplished pianist.
She loved to travel, cook and entertain. She happily split her time between Alexandria and the home she loved, that she and Don built in Tucson, Arizona. Gwen made the trip
annually until Covid prevented her from travelling.

Surviving are her son Donald Douglas Miller (Heather Orr) of Augusta, Georgia; her cherished grandchildren Caroline Emily Miller and Brendan Prescott Miller; her adored nieces Ellen (Jim) Hope and Faye Dawson-Flynn along with their children and grandchildren. Special
mention and much gratitude goes to her caring, loyal friends Mike and Kim Madjerec of Tucson
as well as Sandra Bankley and Jim and Heather Bentley, of Alexandria, Ontario.

The family thanks all the nursing and medical staff on the surgical floor of the Cornwall Community Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care, especially Dr. Anna Blinkina.
