Broadhead, Hazel Mary (née McSweeney) – Predeceased by her mother, father, 9 siblings, husband and one daughter-in-law.
Survived by her 6 children: Ron (predeceased Charmain), Garry (Claire), David, Donna (Myra), Richard, Sharon (Joe). She has 8 grandchildren and a few great grandchildren. Hazel spent most of her life in the Old Chelsea, Que area. She moved to Plantagenet, On. after the death of her husband Dot to be close to her daughter Donna and her son David. She loved the color blue, square dancing, traveling the country, outdoor sports, finding 4 leaf clovers, her swing, her favorite chihuahua and her horse Randy. She loved getting back in the saddle again at age 80. Rode the trails till she was 89. She survived a house fire, in Plantagenet Ont, in her late 80’s with the help of a neighbor. Claire Damphouse ran into the burning house, found mom in the basement and took her safely out, pasting flames which eventually destroyed the home. In Plantagenet she made friends easily. She would often be seen, dressed up in her western clothes, western hat and boots included, to go to a fair with her friend Madeline. Hazel went to the Seniors club weekly to spend time with friends. She spent many weeks, within the last 10 years with her cousin and friend Darlene, going to community dances in the Otter Lake, Que area. Her last dance outing with Darlene was in Nov of 2018. She spent a few years of her 90’s living on a hobby farm with Donna and Myra in Plantagenet. There she enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, visits from family. The family would like to thank: Dr. Joanne Desjardins for her years of great caring. The staff at HGH for the comfort care they provided in mom’s last 11 days. The wonderful caring and friendship from PSW Pauline and friend Gord’s visits. Gord knew how mom loved jewelery. Often showing up with a new selection for her to add to her already large inventory. One of mom’s latest favorite saying: “let me go I have had a good life”.

Until the next time we meet, RIP. Cremation has taken place, interment at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall. Online condolences may be made at: www.wilsonfuneralhome.ca
