Passed away peacefully, at the Palace LTC on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Helen Black of Alexandria formerly of Bainsville: age 90 years. Predeceased by her parents Janie Anderson Wall & William Black. Helen will be fondly remembered by many cousins and special friends. She graduated from Nursing at the Cornwall General Hospital in 1953. Her nursing career began in Cornwall and ended at the Ottawa Civic Hospital in the mid 1980’s. Helen’s natural gift was always to help people, she will be remembered for her kindness towards others. She always put others ahead of herself. A farming girl at heart, gardening was a passion and she had a special love for animals. Helen loved to make people laugh and smile with her sense of humour, quick wit and funny sayings. Many “Thanks” to the staff at the Palace LTC for the wonderful care given to Helen. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria (525-2772). As per Helen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of her life will be held in the Summer of 2022. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the St Andrew’s United Church Bainsville, Cemetery Fund 6247 Conway Court, Bainsville, Ontario, K0C 1E0 or the Glengarry Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family. As a memorial to Helen, a tree will be planted in a memory woods. A tree grows – memories live.
