Hilda Marchand

Hilda M. Marchand of Summerstown, ON passed away with courage and grace surrounded by love at the Glen Stor Dun Lodge as she embarked on her journey to reunite with her beloved husband of 63 years, the late Guy Robert Marchand on January 19th, 2025.

The forever loving and cherished mother of Susan (John Latulippe) and Lynn-Marie (Terry Morrow), grandmother to Patrick, Vaughn, Lorrie Ann, Brian and Eric and great grandmother to Athena, Chloë, Rae, Caliber and Colt.

Born and raised in Cornwall, ON to Josephine and Léo Antonio Bourdon, also predeceased by her brother Frank Bourdon and sister Doreen Peterson.

A loving sister in law to Jeanine Ropp, Neyla and Bill Revill of Mississauga, Micheline and Gerald Lemire of Orléans, Aline St-Jean of Cornwall and dearest friend Judy Brabant of Summerstown.

A member of the Catholic Women’s League for many years through Blessed Sacrament Parish, Cornwall, ON.

The family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to the Glen Stor Dun Lodge, 4th Floor Seaway Wing, which had become our home for te past few years. The compassion of each and every staff member will forever be treasured. She hwas an active member of group activities where we had developed many lasting friendships. Donations to the Recreation Department at the Lodge in her name would be greatly appreciated by the family – “GSD Lodge, Resident Council, Recreation Department”.

 

Our mother lived a remarkable life; she was a kind, compassionate and lovingly talented woman. She had a generous and spirited heart, she touched the lives of many, leaving this world a better place.

Although it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back help comfort you tomorrow.

Long will live the memories of this wonderful woman, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will live on in the hearts of those who loved her…forever.

Cremation has taken place, a Mass of Christian Burial and Columbarium service to follow in the spring.
