RAY, HORTENSE – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hortense (nee Pilon) Ray on October 8th, 2021 at age 95. Predeceased by her beloved husband Reginald Ray of 75 years in 2020. Loving mother of Sheila Bough (Jim), Gordon Ray (Joan) and Brenda Dombroskie (Benny). Proud grandmother of Jennifer (Robert), Daniel (Nikki), Geoffrey (Margaret), Robert (Karen), Derrick and Jonathan (Jacqueline), 12 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her sister and brother-in-law, Gaetanne and Jacques (Bob) Rochon. Predeceased by her parents Aldebert and Alberta (nee Brabant) Pilon, 4 brothers – Fernand (Fern), Jean-Marie (John), Florian, Renald (Ray) and 2 sisters – Rita Filion, and Noella Cotnam. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral services. The family would like to give thanks to all staff at the Cornwall Community Hospital and Janet MacDonnell Pavillion for their great care and assistance. We would like to extend an extra special thank you to all staff at the St. Joseph Continuing Care Centre, Hotel Dieu Rehabilitation and Palliative Unit, for their excellent care and compassion during this most difficult time.
