Peacefully at Glen Stor Dun Lodge, Cornwall on Thursday, April 18, 2019 Howard George Lough; age 95.  Beloved husband of the late Margaret “Peggy” (née Sherwood).  Cherished father of Muriel Buick McTernan (James), Margaret Lough Chisholm (Gordon), Carol Wendt (David), and Catherine Lough-Li (Rolland).  Loving grandfather of Jason Buick (Lori), Kelly Buick, Courtney and Carly Wendt and great grandfather of Olivia and Logan King, Jordan and Katie Buick.  Sadly missed by brothers Ronald (Eva), and Leslie. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends, and caregivers.  Special thanks to Leah Harrington, Jacques Chamberland, and Alexina Auger for their cherished friendships.  Predeceased by his parents George and Victoria, his only son Allen, dear daughter Bernice, son-in-law William Buick, siblings Helen, Percy, Ross, Doris, and Mary.

Howard served in WWII in the RCAF as an upper gunner, completing forty-four missions.  Following the War, he graduated from the University of Toronto as a Chartered Accountant, whereby, he relocated his family to start his CA practice in Cornwall.  Over the years Howard was a well-known, respected, successful businessman who contributed numerous volunteer hours within the community.

Family and friends will be received at the McArthur Bros. & MacNeil Funeral Home & Chapel, 428 Second Street East, Cornwall on Friday, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. where the funeral service will follow in the chapel at 12:00 noon.  Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 are requested to assemble for a Legion Tribute at the funeral home for 11:30 a.m.  Interment at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Ingleside.  Memorial donations to the CNIB or Canadian Mental Health Association gratefully appreciated.  Condolences may be left at www.mcarthurbrosfh.com
