James “Jim” Michael Shoniker
Sunday, September 19th, 1954 – Tuesday, September 7th, 2021
After a courageous battle with lung disease, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Michael “Jim” Shoniker on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the Cornwall Community Hospital at the age of 66 years. Former Co-Owner of Eastern Welding in Summerstown, On. Beloved husband for 45 years to Wendy Shoniker (née DeRochie) of Summerstown, On. He will be greatly missed by his cherished cat C.C. Beloved son of Elizabeth Shoniker (née Reynolds) of Cornwall and of the late George Shoniker. Dear brother of Janet Shoniker-McQuillan (Bernie) of Glen-Walter, On, Glen Shoniker (Mary) of Orangeville, On, and Paul Shoniker of Summerstown, On. He is predeceased by one brother; George Shoniker. He will be sadly missed by his nephews Sean Shoniker and Brendan Shoniker both of Glen-Walter, On as well as many nieces and nephews and by his brother-in-law Stephen DeRochie (Suzanne) of Summerstown, On. In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at a later date. Jim will be memorialized at Salem United Church Cemetery in Summerstown, On. In lieu of flowers as expressions of sympathy Memorial donations to the Cornwall chapter of the O.S.P.C.A would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, On (613) 938-3888.
