Jane Elizabeth (Parisien) Anderson

ANDERSON, Jane Elizabeth – peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus on Saturday December 4, 2021 at the age of 74 years. Jane was born in Cornwall and after graduating from Ottawa University majoring in Social Work she returned to her home town. Jane worked as a social worker with CAS for two years then transferred to Parks Canada and spent 24 years as the Manager of Financial Systems until she retired. Beloved wife of Douglas George Anderson for 52 years. Loving chosen Mother of Ashwini (Linto) and chosen grandmother of Jeshua and Jerush. Cherished sister of Rosemary MacGillivray (the late Gus) of Kingston and Paul Parisien of Cornwall. Dear daughter of the late Leon Parisien and the late Mary (née Shaughnessy) Parisien. Jane will be sadly missed by all her in-laws, nieces, nephews, godchildren, extended family and many friends. Jane will be forever remembered as a pillar of St. Columban Catholic Church. Her whole life focused on her Catholic faith and her Parish. As a stalwart Patron of St. Columban Church she filled many rolls; choir member, choir director, member of the parish council and church secretary. She also served on the parish leadership team,was involved with the foundation committee and was an active member of the Catholic Women’s league for more than 35 years where she served in all capacities including President. As well she served as a member of the Diocese committee and the Diocese choir. Music was a large part of Jane’s life and her singing will long be remembered by many. Jane was a tireless community advocate and active member of St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Center as volunteer and treasurer. Jane had a humble and giving personality. She helped many people with quiet gratification. Funeral for Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday December 10, 2021 in St. Columban Church at 1 p.m. C.W.L. Honour Guard requested for Funeral Mass. Cremation to follow.
