DOLEY, Laura “Jean” – It is with great sadness the family of Jean Doley announce her passing on Friday August 28, 2020 at Glen Stor Dun Lodge.

Jean was born February 23, 1929 in Mountain ON to parents Sydney and Florence Morton. She was always an excellent student and worked hard at her studies. After high school Jean worked as a legal secretary and following that in 1964, she accepted her first teaching position in business studies at St. Lawrence High school in Cornwall. This was her passion and she continued teaching at various institutions until her retirement in 1984.

Jean married her high school sweetheart Albert Doley in 1949 and they affectionately referred to each other as Ginny and Tim. They spent 69 years together sharing many adventures , including 27 winters as snowbirds in Florida , until Albert’s passing in 2018.

Throughout her life Jean was a kind, generous and fun-loving lady who loved to entertain and spend time with family and friends. She will be remembered as a fierce competitor when it came to a game of cards.
Jean is survived by her sister Myrtle Allen, sister-in law Ella Morton and Brother in law Doug Campbell. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews (their families), many friends, especially Bea Jones, and the Campbell family.

Predeceased by her brothers Bruce (Glenna) Davis, Stan (Muriel) Morton, Orval Morton and Ernie (Lois) Morton, her niece Patricia Johnston and her nephew Lynden Allen.

In keeping with Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at a later date with inurnment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
