It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeannette Filion (Quesnel) on Friday October 9, 2020 at the age of 93. She was the last of eight children. She will be missed by her Daughters Andrea Regnier (Robert), Madeleine Soper (Rick), and her son John Filion. Her grandchildren Jennifer (Sean), Stephanie (Marc), Jason (Lindsay) and Brandon (Kirsten), and her great grandchildren, Sydney, Owen Sylas and Jaxon, as well as her nieces and nephews, Susan Leduc (David), Richard Leduc (Colette) , Greg O’Neil (Christine ), Cecile Daniels, and brother in law Frank O’Neil, as well as many great nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents, John and Agnes (Lascelle) Quesnel, her husband Aurele Filion, her son Gary, and her siblings and their husbands, Simone Leduc (Gérard), Blanche Paul (Jean), Leila Socque (Victor), Roland Quesnel (Denise), Rheal Quesnel, Andre Quesnel, Lilian O’Neil, and a niece Joan Socque.

Jeannette worked many years at the Saint Joseph Villa, as a Health Care Aid. She enjoyed her work and the fulfilment it gave her. She was involved with the Saint John Ambulance for 45 years, and received the Governor General of Canada Medal for her volunteer work and involvement. She was also involved in the SD & G Highland Dancing Association, while her children took lessons, and participated in competitions and recitals.

She enjoyed spending the day with her sisters making pies for Christmas, making homemade fries for her grandchildren, and babysitting numerous times, during March Breaks, or summer holidays, or whenever she was asked to, she attended any events that the family were having. Taking long Sunday drives, to Lachute, Quebec and Rigaud, Alexandria, Ontario. Alexandria is where her parents had a summerhouse, and with her siblings, she carried the Sunday traditions after their parents had passed.

Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN, CORNWALL FUNERAL HOME, WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh Street West, (613-932-8482).

A Private Funeral Service was held.

As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Diabetes Associations, Kidney Foundations, or Dementia Associations would be greatly appreciated by the family.
