Joan Vivian Shiel (Chamberlain)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Vivian Shiel (née Chamberlain) on Saturday, December 4, 2021 in Long Sault, ON at the age of 76 years. Beloved wife for 56 years of the late Peter Shiel. Loving mother of Deirdre Branchaud (Wayne) of St. George, On, Brendan Shiel (Lee) of Blackstock, On and Erin Vivian (Darrell) of Gander, NL. Cherished grandmother of Eamy, Amanda, Steven, Shawna, Krista, Sarah and Cate and great-grandmother of 4 great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents; Bernard Chamberlain and Phyllis Chamberlain (née Drew) and by one brother; Bruce Chamberlain. Joan met and married the love of her life in 1965 and was the former District Manager of Becker’s Ltd. In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers as expressions of sympathy Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
