John Ettore D’Alessio

D’Alessio, John Ettore – 91, of Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Cornwall Community Hospital after an exceptionally courageous fight against COVID-19 with his granddaughter Ashleigh by his side.

He was a long-time manager of Mac’s Milk Convenience Stores in Cornwall, a lover of animals and sports fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins and Toronto Raptors.

Beloved husband of the late, Barbara (née Lemieux) D’Alessio, he is survived by two children, Jeff D’Alessio (Lisa) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and Shannon Tyo (late Richard Tyo) of Cornwall, Ontario.

He also is survived by six grandchildren, Amanda Knapp (James) of Rineyville, Kentucky; Tyler Pearman (Brittany) of Eastview, Kentucky; Natalie Davis (Josh) of Hodgenville, Kentucky and Tanner D’Alessio of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Ashleigh Tyo of Hawkesbury, Ontario and Jayden Tyo of Cornwall, Ontario and five great-grandchildren, Madeline, Molly, McKenna, Parker and Nolyn.

John will be sadly missed by his furry friend Merlin.

He also is survived by one brother, Ronnie D’Alessio (late Doreen) of Cornwall, Ontario.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ettore and Lucy (née Desimone) D’Alessio; a brother, Vincent D’Alessio and two sisters, Margaret Baxter and Lillian D’Alessio.

John will be lovingly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The Family would like to thank the staff at McConnell Manor for their care.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen. Because of the ongoing pandemic, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
