John K Adams
September 18, 1925 – August 1, 2020
John K. Adams passed away peacefully at his home in Toronto on August 1, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He will be deeply missed by his dear wife Jean ( Cameron), sons Kevin ( Adrienne), Cameron ( Martha), daughter Cathy, and grandchildren John, Kathleen, Donald and Elizabeth.
John was a World War II Navy Veteran having served on the cruiser H.M.C.S. Uganda. A graduate of Queens University, B. Comm he had a long and rewarding finance career with Canadian General Electric. After retirement, he and Jean enjoyed many winters in Florida, rounds of golf, and especially spending time at his beloved cottage on Buckhorn Lake. An avid golfer, he enjoyed playing the game well into his 90’s. Dad was also an avid reader usually with two or three books on the go, particularly enjoying history and mysteries.
John was pre-deceased by his father Peter Gordon Adams, mother Pearl ( Tessier), brother Gordon Adams and sister Mary Cardwell.
Dad was a natural storyteller and shared many stories of his childhood days in Cornwall and summers spent with family on the St. Lawrence River.
