Jean-Claude (John) Lamoureux

Friday, April 22nd, 1932Thursday, February 22nd, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean-Claude (John) Lamoureux, on Thursday February 22, 2024, at the age of 91.
Son of the late Philias Lamoureux and Jeanne (née Vincent).
Loving husband to Claire Lamoureux (née Delorme).
He leaves in deep sorrow his 2 children Suzanne Lamoureux (Roch DeLangy), Daniel Lamoureux (Natalie Bastianello) and adored grandchildren Jean-Phillipe Labelle (Amanda Lalonde) Philip Delangy, Martin Delangy (Valérie Roumelis), Camille Labelle (Jordan Scribnock) François Labelle and Zenia Lamoureux.
Brother to the late Carmen Fournier and Yvette Carrière.
Once retired, John became an active member of the community and for many years volunteered with the Cornwall Kiwanis Club and at the Royal Canadian Legion branch 297 as service officer. He enjoyed playing his music with his family and friends but also shared it within the community. He was also humbly proud to have served on board the HMCS Haida during the Korean war and to have served with the Canadian Coast Guard. He was a hero to his children and grandchildren, devoted to no end to his wife and will be greatly missed by his countless friends. His positive outlook on life, his sense of humour, his willingness to help others and his humbleness will resonate with us forever. We will remember him and keep his music playing.
John’s family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street (613-938-3888) on Friday March 8th, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of John’s life in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund.
