John (Jack) Chesley Whyte ~ Peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2019, of Cornwall, aged 87 years. Dear husband of 61 years to Joan Lillian (Malyon) Whyte, loving father of Kathy (Jacques) Laroche, Carolyn Whyte, Kenny (Rachel) Whyte. Dear grandfather of Joey, Sarah, Scott, Jonathan and Joshua, and great-grandfather of Emily, Aidan, Liam, Kaleb, Abby, Carter, Bradlee and Hailey. John is predeceased by parents Stanley and Florence (Marcellus) Whyte, and brother Stanley McLean Whyte and sister Lila-Jean (Whyte) Hisey. Jack taught geography and guidance at CCVS early in his career, and eventually moved into management and became the Co-ordinator of the A/V Department for the Upper Canada School Board. He also had a life-long passion for photography, animals and nature. A special thanks to the staff at Heartwood for their care and support during his last days. Family will be attendance at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN, CORNWALL FUNERAL HOME, WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh Street West, (613-932-8482) from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday September 22nd, and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 23rd, 2019 in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with inurnment to follow. Donations to the Diabetes Association, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
