Suddenly at the Barrie Memorial Hospital, Ormstown, Quebec on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the age of 60 years. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas Oakes and Elizabeth Oakes (King), his Grandparents, Paul and Theresa King (Curry) and Mitchell and Theresa Oakes (Phillips). Beloved father of Casandra (Mat) Groulx and cherished grandfather of Connor, Emily, and Sara. Dear brother of JoAnn (Ronald) Swamp, Felicia (Robert) Sunday, Sheila Oakes, Michael (Catherine) Oakes. Cherished uncle of Robert (Sharon), Joseph (Carley), Brandon (Chantal), Ronald (Chelsea), SueAnn (Colby), Charlotte (Sakowihe), Towisontakie (Fawn), Eddie Mike, and many great nieces and nephews. Beloved godfather of Charlotte and Louie John, and dear friends, Barbara George and Randy Barnes. Chosen children Crystal, Nikki and Danielle. Kenny worked for Mohawk Council of Akwesasne for over twenty five years in different areas, such as The St. Regis Nursing Home on Hilltop Drive, the Mohawk Council Ambulance unit, and clerical programs within the Mohawk Council. Kenny liked to spend time with family and friends especially his great nieces and nephews. Kenny was caring and always wore his heart on his sleeve. Kenny had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. Attendance controlled visitation and service will be held at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West, (613-932-8482) on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday at 3:00 PM, followed by cremation.
