Laurent J. P “Larry” Marion

21 May, 1930 – 25 August, 2020

Passed away peacefully in his sleep at 90 years of age. Son of the late Phillias and Clementine Marion. Feisty and much loved husband of the late Beverley Marion (nee Graham). Dependable and strong father to Kathleen “Kathy”, Gail, Michael (Leesa) and Bernard “Barry”.

Grandpa leaves behind 12 brilliant grandchildren, 6 super Great-grandchildren and a 7th coming in December. How blessed he was.

Lawrence was a dear brother of Helene, Margaret, Betty and Veronica. Predeceased by three sisters, Rita, Mary and Theresa and three brothers Jean, “Johnny”, Fernand and Gerrard. He leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

Laurent was a self-made man rising in the business world to president of Excel Fine Papers until retirement. He was known for his honest, straightforward approach, which never left you wondering what his opinion was. He enjoyed golf, horseshoes, fishing and boating and always “the cottage in Summerstown “in his earlier years.

He moved to Cornwall in his later years, preferring the ability to walk to where he wanted to go. Very much a loner, he enjoyed his own company mixed in with some family visitors.

Heartfelt thanks to those who regularly visited and cared for him until the end. You know who you are.

Also special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and professional caretakers for the special attention in regards to J. P.

As per Laurent’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to Cornwall Hospice appreciated.

R. I. P. Dad.
