Leila Thauvette (Quesnel)

At the Cornwall Community Hospital on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Leila Thauvette (nee Quesnel) of Cornwall, formerly of Apple Hill; age 94 years. Beloved wife of 77 years to the late Leo Thauvette. Loving mother of Irene Geneau (Rene) of Summerstown Station, Lauretta Martin (Robert) of Apple Hill, Leona Pilon (Glen) of Cornwall, Jean Pilon (Andre), and Teresa Jarvo (Chris) both of Martintown, Maureeen Larocque (Ray Morin) of Cornwall, and Joanne Fraser of Vankleek Hill. Dear sister of Leonard Quesnel (Bonnie) of Hammond, Hilda Beauvier, and Lorraine Cadieux both of Cornwall and Lydia Paquette of Maxville. Predeceased by two sons Romeo and Edgar Thauvette, by one granddaughter Lisa Geneau, by one infant grandson Pierre Larocque, by five brothers Hubert, Rosaire, Larry, Wallace, and Harvey, by 3 sisters Lena Piette, Leota DeRepentigny, and Rita Periard, and by her parents Lawrence and Mary Louise Quesnel (nee Lalonde). Also survived by 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Masks and social distancing will be required inside the Funeral Home at all times. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Leila a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods.
