Leo Brisson

April 29, 1926 – March 27, 2020

It is with great sadness that his family announces and mourns the passing of Leo Joseph Brisson, at the age of 93. Leo has been a lifelong and proud citizen of Cornwall. He spent most of his working life in the insurance business but you’d need many, many fingers and toes to count the number of jobs he tried his hand at. He was a proud member of the Optimist Club, the Legion, the Knights of Columbus, the Air Force Wing, the Cornwall Golf and Country Club (past President) and especially AA. There was nothing he loved better than the company of his devoted wife, Terry, and spending time with his family followed by rounds of golf with the boys, in days long past, or a few hands of bridge.  Leo will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 27 years, Terry; his sister Donna Brisson of Saint-Laurent; his children David of Cornwall, Anne Downing (Greg) of Cornwall, Mary Baxter (John) of Keswick, Maureen Desmarais of Cornwall, Patty of Ottawa and Peter of Cornwall; his niece Shelley and nephew Terry of Saint-Laurent; his step-children Monique Musty of Ottawa, Guy Villeneuve, Roch Villeneuve (Debi) of Kingston and Patrick Villeneuve of Hope, BC; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Leo was predeceased by his parents Emile and Lillian (Kirkey) and his former wife Kathleen (Wheeler).  In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Leo’s life will be held at a later date. If so desired, contributions, in his memory, can be made to St. Peter’s Parish or the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation (www.cornwallhospitalfoundation.ca) would be appreciated by the family.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall.  Online messages of condolence may be made in the obituary section of: www.wilsonfuneralhome.ca
