(Harold) LYND McDonald aka Woody

The family of Lynd McDonald is saddened to announce his passing on February 11, 2025. Lynd was born on October 7, 1949 in Cornwall, Ontario. He is survived by his sisters, Sandy McDonald (Paul Gehring) of Iroquois, Susan (Randy) Saucier of Brockville and Terri (Ian) McPherson of Summerstown and predeceased by his parents, Neil and Jean (nee Fickes) McDonald. He will be fondly remembered by his niece, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and his cousins on both sides of the border.
Lynd owned and operated McDonald Lynd H Accounting Service until his retirement. As a youth, Lynd spent his lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer on the St. Lawrence driving an old motorboat with a decal of Woody Woodpecker on the front of it; hence the name Woody. Hockey was Woody’s passion, and over his lifetime spent many hours in the rink as player, coach, assistant coach, manager and scout. He was a devoted fan of his beloved Montreal Canadiens and gave his opinions freely on how a game was played. In addition to hockey, he enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Washington “Redskins”.
Respecting his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of Lynd’s life will be held in late spring.
Lynd lived his life by his own code. Forever in our hearts.
