Mae MacDonald

MacDONALD, Mae Viola (Bonhower)- Died at the Glen Stor Dun Lodge on Saturday October 5, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Donald J. MacDonald. Predeceased by her parents, Albert and Alvina (Thibodeau) Bonhower, 2 brothers, Leslie (Lee), Roy (Jean), and sister Gladys (Tom) MacDougall. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A private committal service was held at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery with Reverend Erin McIntyre of Knox-St. Paul’s United Church officiating. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Aunt Mae was a Domtar employee for 48 years. She lived her final senior years at both Chateau Cornwall and Glen Stor Dun Lodge. Right to the end, Aunt Mae’s memory was not to be challenged. From names, phone numbers to song lyrics, she couldn’t be stumped. She always had to have the scores of her two favourite teams, The Toronto Blue Jays and the Montreal Canadiens. A special and grateful thanks to all staff who made her stay safe and comfortable. Third floor Glengarry staff, Kathy, Lise, Denise and all at the Lodge worked endlessly to ensure her comfort during her final days. Thank you Marie-Claude Beauvais of M. JOHN SULLIVAN FUNERAL HOME for your assistance and knowledge.
