Tuesday, April 3rd, 1945 – Sunday, October 18th, 2020
LALONDE, Marcel – It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Marcel Real Lalonde on Sunday, October 18th, 2020 at the age of 75. He passed surrounded by his immediate family at the Cornwall Community Hospital. Loving and dear husband to Claudette Lalonde (Piette) and two daughters, Ginette Lauzon (Brian Jewson) and Nicole Lalonde. Devoted grandfather to Martin Lauzon and Zacharie Lauzon. Brother to Annette Peterson (Paul) and Aldege “Tess” Lalonde (Simone). Predeceased by his brother Real Lalonde (Jeannette) and sister Pauline Saucier (Rolland). He will be fondly remembered and missed by his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Marcel retired from VIA Rail where you could find his friendly face working from behind the ticket counter at the Cornwall station for over 30 years. He loved playing a wide range of sports but his true passion was baseball. Every summer he played in the Co-ed league up until last summer. He was lovingly known as the “senior” on his Laframboise team. His love for music was known among his extended family. He enjoyed playing guitar and entertaining any Beatles requests for everyone to enjoy. In his down time you could find him in the kitchen where he loved to cook and perfect his skills. What started out as a hobby for his love of computers eventually led him to help anyone who needed computer assistance. He loved the challenge and it kept him sharp. His contagious smile, amazing sense of humour and infectious laugh will be missed most of all by the many who were fortunate enough to cross his path. As per his wishes there will be no funeral services. We know there are so many of you who knew and loved him therefore we have chosen to delay Marcel’s Celebration Of Life until a larger gathering can be permitted.
