Mrs. Margaret Maybank (née Johnston) passed away peacefully at Heartwood Long Term Care, Cornwall, Ontario on Friday, May 8, 2020 at the age of 88 years. Beloved wife of the late John Maybank. Cherished mother of Kathy Utri (Doug), Maidstone SK, Douglas Samms, Port Hardy BC, Norma Lacosse, Cornwall, and son-in-law Roland Beausoleil, Massey ON. Sadly missed by grandchildren Jodi Wacker (Curtis), Humboldt SK, Joanna Brown (Bart), Parry Sound ON, Kristin Shantz (Joey Mosher), Paynton SK, Kelly (Utri) Yanch (Brian), Jaime (Utri) Rix (Mike) and Adam Utri, Fort Saskatchewan AB, Kevin Samms, Dalmeny SK, Amanda, Dana and Serena Lacosse and Darel McRae (Michelle), Cornwall; 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by sisters, Iris Lester (late Donald), Stony Plain AB, Phyllis Rands (late Howard), Victoria BC, and Audrey Johnston, Thunder Bay ON, and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Predeceased by her life partner John, their dearest Sheltie Kelly, daughter Patricia (Trish) Beausoleil, brothers Leslie and Stanley Johnston, parents Ernest and Inez (née Davidson) Johnston, and first husband William (Bill) Samms. Margaret will be remembered for her love of God and family, being gracious and compassionate, her zest for life, perseverance, natural curiosity, wit and quirky sense of humour. She loved the colour blue, music and singing, dark chocolate, the English language, gardening, the outdoors and walking. The family wishes to thank both Heartwood LTC and Riverdale Terrace staff for their loving care of Margaret these past few years. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at a later time. In tribute to Margaret, please be kind to each other, kind to those less fortunate than you, and kind to yourselves. Margaret’s children have written a Memoriam of their Mom’s life; please contact them if you would like a copy.
