MCMARTIN, Marjorie – Marjorie Catherine McMartin peacefully at Hospice Cornwall on Sunday October 6, 2019 in her 98th year.  Retired highly respected public school teacher.  Predeceased by father John Peter McMartin (1884 – 1970), mother, Edna Catherine (McDermid) McMartin (1891 – 1959), brother, Ian Bruce McMartin (1917 – 1980) and infant brother Douglas McMartin (1929). Marjorie was extremely proud of her two beloved Churches, St. Andrews United, Martintown and Knox-St. Paul’s United, Cornwall.  The Martintown Grist Mill has held a long history within the McMartin family.  Marjorie was very proud and appreciative of the countless hours spent by volunteers in preserving this magnificent structure.  In keeping with Miss McMartin’s wishes there will be no visitation.  A Celebration of Miss McMartin’s life will be held at Knox-St. Paul’s United Church, 800- 12th Street East, Cornwall on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 1:00 PM.  Interment North Branch Cemetery, Martintown. Officiating will be Rev. Erin McIntyre and Rev. Lois Gaudet.  If so desired Marjorie’s wishes were that in lieu of flowers that Donations be made to Hospice Cornwall, 1507 Second Street West, Cornwall, Ontario, K6J 1J5.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, Ontario.
