Marylyn Baker (Button)
Tuesday, January 16th, 1940 – Friday, September 4th, 2020
It is with deep sadness that we announce that Marylyn Denise Baker (nee Button) of Bainsville, age 80 years, passed away peacefully at Hospice Cornwall on Friday, September 4, 2020. Beloved wife of George Baker. Loving mother of Simon Baker (Elena), Karen Baker (James), Cathryn Baker (André), Greg Baker (Annie), and Matthew Baker. Cherished grandmother of Andrew, Charlie, David, Ezekiel, Ian, and Ryan. Dear daughter of the late Norman and Phoebe Button (nee Bust). Marylyn was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and a dear caring friend to many. Dedicated educator, founder of Beechwood Preschool and a voice and advocate for early childhood education are but a few of her accomplishments. Marylyn had a flair for the creative and earned a BA from Concordia University. Her pastimes included various art, craft and music courses as well as volunteering. Never one to shy away from style and colour, Marylyn had a particular interest in fashion. She will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Lancaster on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Attendees will be required to wear face masks and asked to practice social distancing at all gatherings. For those who wish to stream the service live, you may do so at the following link facebook.com/kavproductions/live. As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to Hospice Cornwall would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Marylyn a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods. A tree grows – memories live. Online messages of condolence may be made in the obituary section of: www.munromorris.com
