Passed away at home on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. Raymond Arthur McNicol of Maxville; age 76 years. Loving father of Cindy McNicol (Brandon Smith) of Maxville, Tracey McNicol (Peter Quick) of St. Andrews, and Brad McNicol (Amie) of Maxville. Cherished grandfather of Ethan, Adriane, Paige, Drew, Cameron, Lauren, and Isla. Dear brother of Marilyn Boyce (Tom) of Perth. Dear son of the late Arthur and Winnie McNicol (nee Somerville). Ray was born and raised in Lanark, Ontario. In 1968 he joined the O.P.P. and was stationed in Brighton, Ontario. This is where he would spend the majority of his career, start his family and create life long friendships. It was during this time he would become a decorated officer and receive a gold medal for the arrest of 2 suspects in a 1981 Toronto Bank heist. In 1985 he moved his family east where he would finish out his career in 1996, after 28 years, at the Maxville, Ontario detachment. Relatives and friends may attend a controlled visitation at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 20 Main St. South, Maxville (613-527-2898) on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. For those who wish to attend the controlled attendance visitation, must call the Funeral Home, Mon. to Fri. between 9 am & 5 pm, to register your attendance. Masks and physical distancing will be required. Interment will be held in the St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Watsons Corners on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 12 pm. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
